AFP World Tour Rankings Update - February 8th

Feb 9, 2017

Words: Jeff Schmuck

Hot on the heels of our huge update last week following the biggest event of the year, X Games Aspen, it’s time for another significant rundown on the AFP World Tour Rankings. Over the course of the past week, seven events went down, including the fifth Platinum-Level event of the season, the second stop of the U.S. Grand Prix at Mammoth Mountain, California (Halfpipe & Slopestyle… where Finals were unfortunately cancelled in Men’s and Women’s Halfpipe and Women’s Slopestyle due to high winds, with Qualifiers counting as the final results, while Men’s Slopestyle was cancelled all together), the Bronze-Level Delta Le Relais in Le Relais, Quebec (Slopestyle), the second stop of the Bronze-Level Swiss Freeski Open series in Grindelwald, Switzerland (Halfpipe), the fourth stop of the Nor Freeski Cup series in Trysil, Norway (Slopestyle), and three USASA events (one Halfpipe & two Slopestyle). Here’s a look at how they affected the AFP World Tour Rankings…

• Season’s third place performance counts towards his top 4 results, and is his fourth result in the past 52 weeks (now that his sixth place showing at last season’s U.S. Grand Prix at Park City has dropped off the 52-week window), but due to Torin Yater-Wallace and Gus Kenworthy now having a higher amount of accumulative points over the past 52 weeks, he drops two spots.
