AFP World Tour Rankings Update - April 27th

Apr 27, 2017

Words: Jeff Schmuck

Well, it’s come down to this: the last rankings update of the 2017 AFP World Tour. Over the course of the past week, one lone event took place, the final stop of the Bronze-Level Swiss Freeski Open at Corvatsch Silvaplana, Switzerland (Slopestyle & Big Air), so here’s a short but sweet look at how the final event of the season affected the AFP World Tour Rankings…

SWISS FREESKI OPEN
Location: Corvatsch Silvaplana, Switzerland
Disciplines: Slopestyle & Big Air
Sanctioning Level: Bronze

Men’s Slopestyle

1) LUCA SCHULER: 31st —> 30th (+1)
• Schuler’s win counts towards his top 3 Slopestyle results in the past 52 weeks, and is his third result in that time frame, so he moves one spot up.
2) MATT TILL: 212nd —> 187th (+25)
• Till’s second place showing counts towards his top 3 results, and is his third result in the past 52 weeks, so he moves 25 spots up.
3) COLIN WILI: 16th —> 16th (EVEN)
• The amount of points Wili secured with his third place performance does not eclipse his top 3 results, so he remains in 16th, but moves two spots up on the Junior Rankings into 3rd.

Women’s Slopestyle

1) SARAH HOEFFLIN: 9th —> 9th (EVEN)
• The amount of points Hoefflin secured with her win does not eclipse her top 3 Slopestyle results in the past 52 weeks, so she remains in 9th.
2) JUSTINE CUOQ: 82nd —> 67th (+15)
• Coq’s second place showing counts towards her top 3 results, and is her third result in the past 52 weeks, so she moves 15 spots up.
3) ANNI KARAVA: 64th —> 63rd (+1)
• The amount of points Karava secured with her third place performance does not eclipse her top 3 results, but due to the general fluctuations of the 52-week rolling system, she moves one spot up.

Men’s Big Air

1) KAI MAHLER: 4th —> 4th (EVEN)
• The amount of points Mahler secured with his win does not eclipse his top 3 Big Air results in the past 52 weeks, so he remains in 4th.
2) LUKAS MEULLAUER: 129th —> 129th (EVEN)
• Meullauer’s second place showing counts towards his top 3 results, and is his first result in the past 52 weeks, so he re-enters the rankings in 129th.
3) MATTI TILL: 135th —> 135th (EVEN)
• Till’s third place performance counts towards his top 3 results, and is his first result in the past 52 weeks, so he re-enters the rankings in 135th.

Women’s Big Air

1) SARAH HOEFFLIN: 24th —> 24th (EVEN)
• Hoefflin’s win counts towards her top 3 Big Air results in the past 52 weeks, and is her first result in that time frame, so she re-enters the rankings in 24th.
2) JUSTINE CUOQ: 32nd —> 32nd (EVEN)
• Cuoq’s second place showing counts towards her top 3 results, and is her first result in the past 52 weeks, so she re-enters the rankings in 32nd.
3) ANNI KARAVA: 40th —> 40th (EVEN)
• Karava’s third place performance counts towards her top 3 results, and is her first result in the past 52 weeks, so she re-enters the rankings in 40th.
