AFP World Tour Finals

The Association of Freeskiing Professionals is excited to announce some monumental news for this year's AFP World Tour Finals, which are set to take place on April 10th - 12th during the World Ski & Snowboard Festival in Whistler, B.C.

Name Change

First, the name. Previously known as the AFP World Championships, we've decided to rename it the AFP World Tour Finals, as it more accurately describes the context of the event, along with coincidentally creating a tongue-in-cheek and memorable acronym…WTF.

All 3 Disciplines

After two years of no pipe, we're incredibly happy to announce that all three disciplines (Big Air, Slopestyle and Halfpipe) will be included in this year's AFP World Tour Finals. Stay tuned for more info on prize money.

World of X Games

Quite possibly the biggest and most exciting news is that the AFP has partnered with ESPN to broadcast the AFP World Tour Finals on ABC's World of X Games. Along with the competitions themselves, athlete profiles and other features will be filmed on-site during the event, with the show airing two weeks later, on April 25th.

AFP Awards Dinner

We're also excited to announce that the AFP Awards Dinner will be returning to Bearfoot Bistro on the evening of Sunday, April 12th, where this year's AFP World Champions will be crowned. Please note that this is an invite-only and formal event (so be sure to pack some nice clothes), and the invitees will be contacted directly with more info soon.

Invited Athletes

With the final U.S. Grand Prix and SFR Freestyle Tour Slopestyle Finals in the bag, invites for Slopestyle will be going out soon, followed by Hafpipe and Big Air, so be sure to stay tuned to afpworldtour.com, as we'll be announcing who will be competing in Whistler in the coming weeks.
