In an effort to provide more educational tools for registered AFP Judges along with athletes and the public at large, we’re excited to announce two new initiatives as the 2015/2016 AFP World Tour gets underway...
First is the AFP Freeskiing Basics Clinic, which is designed to introduce those who are just getting into the sport to the world of competitive freeskiing. The AFP Freeskiing Basics Clinic, which is available on the Resources page of afpjudges.com, provides in-depth explanations on trick recognition in both slopestyle and halfpipe (complete with video examples), what overall impression means, and opportunities to learn about stenography and how to perform it. If you are a new athlete, parent, or an individual who is looking to become an AFP Judge, be sure to check it out.
In addition to the AFP Freeskiing Basics Clinic, we've also formed an exciting new partnership with the talented skiers (including Matt Walker, Olympic slopestyle gold medalist Joss Christensen, and more) behind SLVSH, who have developed the SLVSH Trick Library. The SLVSH Trick Library currently provides video explanations of 33 different grabs performed by some of the top freeskiers in the world, and will expand to include spins, flips, swaps, grinds and more as the season progresses. Like the Freeskiing Basics Clinic, the SLVSH Trick Library is an incredibly valuable asset for AFP Judges and athletes of all levels, so we strongly encourage you to check it out at slvsh.com/library.
Stay tuned to afpworldtour.com for more exciting announcements from the AFP over the coming weeks as this year’s World Tour kicks into high gear. And as always, please feel free to reach out to us at anytime with any questions you have…
